Entrecote on the grill — timing
A whole rib steak (entrecote) on the charcoal grill, large piece.
What I did
- 1.1 kg whole entrecote
- 80 minutes total
- Lowest brick height (closest to coals)
- Turned at 20 minutes, then at intervals
Result
Not bad. Slightly more done than ideal — could be pinker in the middle.
Next time
- Try a shorter total time — start checking around 65–70 min for medium-rare to medium.
- First turn at 20 min is fine. After that, turn every ~15 minutes rather than every 20 — the heat is peaking by then and the side facing down cooks faster than the first turn.
